Pismo Beach, CA

We met up with Callie’s parents in Pismo Beach to spend Labor Day Weekend with them and so far, it’s been great. We’re staying at the Lighthouse Suites, right on the beach with an amazing view of the pier and a pod of humpback whales just a few hundred yards off shore.

On Sunday we traveled North to Hearst Castle. Callie’s parents had been there a couple times before, but it was a first for both Callie and I. We were on the standard tour, and even though it was pretty limited, I think it was worth it. If you’re wondering what’s included with the base package for the tour: You get to see the main living/entertaining room, the billiards room, the dining hall, and the movie theater. I hear that in years past, the tour was much more inclusive, so that was a little bit of a bummer. With all of the unique historical pieces of furniture in the Castle, the exterior was my favorite.

That night, we came back to Pismo Beach and watched the sunset. It was pretty incredible. I’m not sure if I’ve personally seen a better sunset.
